Exploring the Kris Kringle Markt
The first-ever Kris Kringle Markt has so much going on and we want to make sure you get to experience it all! This event is put on by the Downtown Tiffin Marketing Committee and spearheaded by co-chairs Kate Wertz and Donna Gross. Thank you to everyone who has made this awesome experience for our community possible!
Visitors can enjoy the sounds of live holiday music, the aroma of German food, late-night shopping, children’s activities, and the ambiance of an old-world German Christmas. Check out the schedule of events and the offerings that will be present below. We can’t wait!

Friday, December 2nd (5pm-10pm)
Kait’s Carts and Catering – Stop by for a delicious bite to eat as Kait will be offering a German Kielbasa with kraut and toppings, potato dumplings, and other German themed eats for you to enjoy as stroll through town!
High Voltage Coffee Company – A mobile coffee trailer offering coffee, hot chocolate, cider, and more! They will offer all of your classic favorites along with specialty drinks with a German twist. Warm up with a tasty drink!
Wild Hooves Farm Animal Rescue – Animal rescue based out of Vermillion, OH and home to llamas, alpacas, sheep, goats, mules, and more! At the market there will be mini animals that kids and adults alike can enjoy at the petting zoo, Sponsored by Relax & Revive Salon and Spa.
Calvert Catholic Schools Choir – Enjoy the sounds of strolling carolers from Calvert Catholic Schools and sing along to help spread that Christmas cheer!
Ice Creations – Pre-carved ice sculptures for viewing and a LIVE ice carving demonstration, Sponsored by Reineke Family Dealerships & Clouse Construction.
The Pink Lady Food Truck – Fitting the theme of a German Christmas, you are sure to leave full and in the spirit with an offering of brat sandwiches and pretzels!
Ohio Carriage Rides – Feel like you are in a real winter wonderland with free horse drawn carriage rides! Pick ups will take place in CIty Lot 7, then head South on S. Washington Street, left on Market Street, left on Riverside Drive, left on Washington Street past The Ritz Theatre and then return back to City Lot 7 to drop off, Sponsored by Dana Braun Travel Design.
This lot is dedicated to donations for the Salvation Army Tiffin Citadel. Have a good time while also doing some good!
Fresh Christmas Tree Lot – Stroll through the fresh Christmas tree lot and purchase one to take home for the holidays. Trees will be tagged and can be picked up anytime through Saturday at 3pm! Tree lot made possible by:

Chuck the Truck Donation Drive – Don’t do real trees?! – Donate to the boot, hat, and mitten drive! Chuck the Truck from JAM’s Monthly Markets will be collecting all donations! 100% of proceeds from tree sales and donations of winter gear will go to The Salvation Army of Tiffin.

The Laird Kindergarten (Located inside The Laird Building)
Bring the kiddos inside to the Laird Building to experience the Kris Kringle Markt’s “Laird Kindergarten!” You and the family can warm up and enjoy all kinds of fun and themed activities! Kids can enjoy the following Friday night:
- Giant blow up pretzel toss
- Traditional German and Christmas themed coloring pages that will be entered into a coloring contest on Saturday
- The hot chocolate stop at Yours With Every Stitch
Downtown Business Features & Offerings
The Empire – Enjoy a special German themed menu during the market featuring Jagerschnitzel and Rumplesnuggler (Peppermint Schnapps, Bailey’s and chocolate)! (Available 5pm-10pm)
FroZone Tiffin – Black Forest cake originated from the Black Forest in southwest Germany. Indulge in building your own Black Forest cake inspired frozen yogurt!
Tom Rodgers Flowers – Drop off your letters to Santa to the mailbox that has priority shipping right to the North Pole while snacking on some freshly baked cookies. Letters dropped off will receive a stamped response! (Open until 8pm)
Pan Yan Bookstore – SANTA! We know him! Hear Christmas stories read aloud, visit with Mr. Claus, and get free pictures taken! (Available 5:30pm-9:30pm)
Clover Club – Satisfy your appetite with beer cheese soup in pretzel bowls, bratwurst sandwiches, and German chocolate cheesecake!
The Laird Arcade Brewery – Pop Kölscher and Heritage Fest (Märzen style beer) will be available for you to enjoy and The LAB will be offering FREE brewery tours on Friday evening. Grab a brew and check out the behind the scenes!
GW’s Fine Food and Spirits – GW’s will be featuring some German favorites including German sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, spatzle, and a German beer or two on tap!
