Tiffin University will celebrate the life and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on campus on Monday, Jan. 21, beginning at 8 a.m. Dr. Lillian Schumacher, President and Dr. Peter Holbrook, Provost will kick off the celebration in Chisholm Auditorium located inside of Franks Hall. The community is invited and encouraged to attend.
Concurrent breakout sessions surrounding the theme “Communication…the Key to Bridging Cultural Differences,” will take place in the Main Classroom Building from 9 to 11:45 a.m. on topics that encompass an inclusive campus environment; racial integration of the military; e-mentoring; prominent authors in the context of race; contours of mass incarceration; communities of color; the diversity within Chinese culture; reducing social biases; civility, awareness and authenticity of communication; exploration of music and Black power; navigation of micro-aggressions in everyday life; transracial adoption; influences of peaceful integrationist movement; how science bridges the divide among races and more.
