Kiwanis Club of Tiffin
The Tiffin Kiwanis Club was organized at a meeting of 36 men in The Shawhan Hotel on October 4, 1928. The Club received its charter from Kiwanis International on November 15, 1928 in a meeting at The Masonic Temple with The Fostoria Club being the sponsor.
Through the years the Kiwanis Club has undertaken many fundraising projects. The proceeds of these various projects are returned to the community in the form of activities and services which have enriched the lives of thousands of citizens. Kids need Kiwanis and they are dedicated to improving the lives of children in the community and around the world.
The Kiwanis Manor is their longest continuous project. This 10-story, 98 unit, apartment complex and senior community opened on February 4, 1972. The Senior Community Center of Kiwanis Manor provides recreation, education, and supportive services at the manor and occupies the entire first floor. Other community-centered projects include Operation Evergreen, which sends handmade holiday ornaments to troops overseas; Grade A Banquet, which celebrates the grade “A” projects from the Seneca County Fair; the Kiwanis Christmas Parade; the Tiffin Kiwanis Cooking Show; and so many more!
The Tiffin Kiwanis Club meets on Thursdays at 12:00 PM. To become a member, reach out to a current Kiwanian or visit tiffinkiwanis.org/get_involved. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be made through tiffinkiwanis.org/donate. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and check out their website to stay up-to-date on their latest projects.
